A week after President Trump's order to temporarily halt offshore wind developement along the East Coast, the future of the nascent industry remains in question. While unpremitted windfarms are at risk, experts believe that complete projects or those under construction won't be shut down. Vineyard Haven's Little House Cafe is expected to close mid-February, to be replaced by The Maker Pasta Shop Cafe a month later. Vineyarders Carlos Montoya and Sheenagh Caridi are teaming up to buy the cafe, and say they will maintain its comforting environment while serving New England seasonal dishes with fresh pasta as a vessel. Dogcharmer Tom Shelby is making a plea this week to commit to training your canine companions and to put a stop to the over 600,000 shelter dogs that are put down every year. "We humans give our dogs what space, time, and love we can spare," he writes, adding that dogs give us one of the best deals in our human history in return.
