Congratulations to Derby first-timer Carmelo Torres, whose 8-pound bonito landed him a brand new Eastern Boat Works vessel. As per Derby tradition, the winner of each category gets a key, but only one unlocks the grand prize. Torres was the last to try his key yesterday, and he won his boat to applause from hundreds of Islanders. Read more


'We're finally family'

A dozen people were officially recognized as U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony at the Edgartown courthouse. Among their stories is that of a young couple who haven’t had the same last name since getting married six years ago. That all changed on Friday, and the couple — with their baby — felt whole.
