Quote of the Day

“We have also encountered cases of oak mite irritation, though less frequently. Oak mites are tiny arachnids (not insects) that are commonly found on oak trees and are difficult to see without magnification. These cases are usually linked to activities such as gardening or working with oak trees. Oak mites primarily cause irritation and are more of a nuisance.”

— Ellen McMahon, medical director of ambulatory and chief of medicine at MVH on mysterious bites that have been popping up Island-round
