Vineyarders came together on Friday for a special Shabbat service honoring Martin Luther King and Abraham Joshua Heschel, his friend in the Civil Rights Movement. It’s been a hectic weekend for the nascent offshore wind industry. After months of not delivering power, Vineyard Wind is said to have one turbine up and running after reassuring federal officials that they have taken corrective actions. But on inauguration day on Monday, President Trump signed an executive order to give his administration a pathway to terminate current projects. Also, before leaving office, Biden gave one last construction permit to a new, bigger offshore wind development off the Vineyard’s coast. Read more

Jules Feiffer dies at 95 |
Jules Feiffer, a Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist and longtime Vineyard seasonal resident, died on Friday at the age of 95. He was known for his syndicated comic strip, “Feiffer,” which started in the Village Voice in 1956 and ran for more than four decades. Here is our announcement.
