The school district has released the results of its equity audit online, and it presented the findings in a school committee meeting last night. The bird’s-eye overview showed generally positive feedback, but also pointed to some areas that needed work. The Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School is hoping to build a new facility on their campus to serve a gathering space and for other needs. It will be named in honor of founding director Bob Moore. Hospitals around the country are conserving IV fluid after the facility that produces over half of the nation's supply was damaged in the historic hurricane. Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and its parent organization are not an exemption, though officials say that they are fully operational. Read more

Relief for Hurricane victims |
An emergency relief drive will be taking place this Sunday at the Legion Hall in Vineyard Haven from 11 am to 5 pm, and all donations will be headed to rural Lincolnton County, Georgia and the surrounding areas. Suggested donation items include water, canned food products and can openers, dry foods, cleaning supplies, clothes and bedding/linens, paper supplies like paper towels and toilet paper, hygiene supplies like toothbrushes and soap, and medical supplies like bandaids and non-prescription drugs.

The 36th annual Martha’s Vineyard Big Golf Fore Kids tournament – hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands – is celebrating 50 years of mentoring youth at Mink Meadows Golf Club.
