40B referred to commission amid neighbors' concerns

Tisbury officials referred the Island Housing Trust's Cat Hollow project to the M.V. Commission on Friday for review as a development of regional impact. The project was before the town zoning board of appeals last week for approval as a Chapter 40B project, but that will wait until it appears before the regional planning agency. Meanwhile, dozens of citizens are concerned about impacts on Lagoon Pond and traffic congestion. Read more

Barnstable unstable

The Steamship Authority’s newest freight boat, the Barnstable, wasn’t able to begin sailing its new schedule on the Nantucket route because of repairs needed to its keel cooler. The ferry line shuffled around their freight boats to accommodate freight services to the Islands. Its sister vessel, the Aquinnah, has identical systems and will be serving on the Vineyard route. Quote of the Day

“We have done some crazy things this year, we even made a basket in the wrong hoop one time … We had to play so hard to get back in that game and a lot of times when you do that and get back and you don’t have enough to finish, but the guys really did. And then of course Jacoby [Light] hit an incredible shot at the buzzer.”

—MVRHS boys basketball coach Mike Joyce after Friday’s win
