Got a minute?
Here’s what’s happening on Martha’s Vineyard today.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened on this day in 1872. And it’s Ansel Adams’ birthday. Maybe those two events were destined to happen on the same day. We think Ansel would have had a field day on our beautiful Island. If your friend sent you this, sign up for yourself here.

Revised expansion plans
The Vineyard Montessori School has revised its plans for a new building, primarily to make that building shorter. The school also offered conditions to the Martha's Vineyard Commission for the project's approval, many of which seek to ease traffic flow around the building. The MVC will accept written comments regarding the plan until Thursday at 5 pm. More on that here.
Presidential races incoming
The presidential primaries are fast approaching, and the Island is getting ready for the early polling to start. The political parties that will have primaries are the Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians. Get your town’s polling information here.

Way to go, George
Let’s give a round of applause to former MV Times news editor George Brennan. He was recognized for his work as a journalist and was inducted into NENPA’s New England Newspaper Hall of Fame. Not only that, but he’ll be getting the Yankee Quill Award from NENPA. Read more here.

Staying in?
Combine comfort food with leafy greens in the recipe for Garden Vegetable Turkey Loaf with Sweet & Spicy Glaze, shared by cookbook author Catherine Walthers. It's great served with mashed potatoes, a tossed salad, and fresh bread.

Art spans the ages
Nancy Slonim Aronie shows us that dreams can be achieved with a little time and patience. She writes to us about her early ambitions of being an artist at the age of 8, to later becoming a writer, and then finally returning back to crafting later in life. At the age of 82, she has her mixed-media pieces displayed at local galleries. Read more here.
