Three decades ago, there was a plan to build a large metal structure to host the Ag Fair. But then some farmers got together, disassembled an old barn in New Hampshire, and put it all back together in West Tisbury with hundreds of volunteers. Vineyarders can ancitipate the return of the Gay Head Light's original three-whites-and-a-red light pattern for the first time in decades, but they'll have to wait six months. Next month the lighthouse will shut off, and its top will be removed temporarily for renovations to install the new beacon. This follows the U.S. Coast Guard stating in March that they had run out out of parts to maintain the lighthouse's current equipment. Read

After the developer of a controversial housing project published town employee Amy Upton's text messages about his property and town officials, the town placed Upton on leave with pay pending review. Now, her lawyer believes the decision was retaliation for the messages, and she said the town disciplined Upton for them over a month ago. Read more
