The Wampanoag chairwoman is calling for a halt to all offshore wind developments to make sure this won’t happen again. Read that story here.

Inadequate dental care Islanders have been unable to access dental care on the Vineyard for years, as offices don’t accept MassHealth insurance. One office in Falmouth, Direct Pay Dental Care, was a solution, although it has recently stopped accepting MassHealth. While Islanders continue to struggle, a new development is on the horizon. Island Health Care is currently working on opening an Edgartown dental clinic for the fall, which would accept MassHealth and help those without
insurance. Read more here.

Out of serviceThe Island Home, a large Steamship Authority ferry, was sidelined temporarily on Saturday, and a number of trips were
canceled. And early, early Sunday morning, a line of cars trying to get off Island crept well beyond Five Corners. Steamship officials say that a problem with the vessel’s generator caused the issue. Read that story here.

Chef Deon’s kitchen Follow along as Dr. Doug Plath visits Chef Deon’s flavorful kitchen at the VFW in Oak Bluffs. Plath and his son tried the fresh sea bass and one of the Jamaican chef’s specialties, the jerk chicken, both of which were described as delicious. Chef Deon joined the pair after they were finished with their meals and pointed out various pieces of artwork that add to the ambiance of the restaurant. Some artwork had been recently added by South American artist Marco Nereo Rotelli, who had visited
the Island and declared Chef Deon to be the best chef on Martha’s Vineyard. Read more here.
