While the Island Grown Initiative has been operating out of a temporary space at the PA Club, the nonprofit held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their newly renovated location, also in Oak Bluffs. Island Grown reps say this is a milestone for the organization in their effort to address food insecurity. It's expected to open in a couple weeks. Read more

Dead whale spotted off the Vineyard
|
Federal officials confirmed that the body of a humpback whale was seen floating not far from the Island on Monday evening. What led to the whale’s death is not yet known, and researchers are waiting until it comes to shore to undergo testing. It's expected to wash ashore on either the Elizabeth Islands or the Vineyard later today. Read more
