A big step for HarborWorks
|

The nonprofit and its members behind an ambitious project on the Tisbury waterfront took a significant step forward recently by purchasing a property from the DeSorcy family. While there is still some serious progress to be made, the acquisition sets in motion a series of other movements to preserve space for Gannon & Benjamin and a waterside stage and public park. A hub for Islanders with autism
Phase one of the Island Autism Center is complete. The Hub House will allow Island Autism to expand afterschool and summer programs, and will provide “practice spaces” for Vineyarders with autism to train for jobs suited for Island life, key to independent living. And if funding keeps pace, by 2028 the center will have housing for 12–18 Islanders with autism. Read more

But in speaking with Dr. Nicole Absar of the Martha's Vineyard Hospital's new Neurocognitive Clinic, Remer realized just how much the understanding of Alzheimer's has changed lately.
