The Red House, a lifeline for Vineyarders seeking addiction counseling, will have about 10 months to find a new location. Last month, the M.V. Hospital told Red House it would not renew their $1-per-month lease, which will end in February. Hospital leadership told The Times that they desperately need space, and that their building plans will work toward a future where Vineyarders don’t have to go off-Island for care. Read more |

Governor Maura Healey, Congressman Bill Keating, and Senator Ed Markey want the federal government to answer to Vineyard veterans after it cut funding for a veterans' counseling program. State Rep. Thomas Moakley says he is in contact with the state attorney general to find out whether the cut is legal, and he is asking the state whether they can help out the Island directly. Read more |
