Quote of the Day

"As ‘summer people’ we especially want Islanders to thrive year round, because Martha’s Vineyard gives so much to our family when we are here. For us there is no more meaningful legacy to one’s community than to leave it even better than when one found it.”

—Michelle Morby on the largest-ever donation to MV Community Services

Staying In?

Enjoy recipes and stories from the cookbook "Morning Glory's Farm Food," by Gabrielle Redner with photography by Alison Shaw, which was published ten years ago. The seasonal dishes include corn chowder, a quiche made with rainbow chard, bacon, and cheese, and roasted chicken with tomatoes, leeks, roasted peaches, and a glaze. The secret to this quick-and-easy dish is the combination of ingredients, which sing in harmony all the way to the bottom of the bowl: Red Cabbage Salad with Blue Cheese, Walnuts, and Oranges, from Tina Miller's cookbook "Vineyard Harvest: A Year of Good Food on Martha's Vineyard."

If you have a recipe to share with the community, send it along with a photo of the dish to recipes@mvtimes.com.
