HOW IT STARTED
OUR HISTORY
In 2012, Island voters approved medical cannabis. That’s when Geoff Rose got to work. Motivated by his experience as a caregiver to a medical cannabis patient, he worked tirelessly for the next eight and a half years with state and local authorities, starting with the construction of the first cultivation, manufacturing and testing laboratory, then finally with getting medical and adult-use dispensaries operating on MV. “Safe and Responsible Use” has always been the cornerstone of his efforts, and he brings this sensibility to Island Time Dispensary.
OUR COMMUNITY &
GIVING BACK
A 20-year resident of Martha's Vineyard, Geoff has always thought it was important to give back to the community. Aside from his efforts for safe and responsible cannabis use for the Island community, he volunteers his time as a driver for Meals on Wheels.
He’s also a co-founder of Our Island Club/Buy Local, the local consumer savings program committed to growing and maintaining a strong, vibrant Island economy by encouraging people to buy from local businesses. Over the last 15 years, the Club has provided significant savings to year-round residents at hundreds of Island businesses while donating more than $750,000 to Island charities and high school scholarship programs.
We continue in that tradition here at Island Time with contributions to charitable, non-profit and community assistance organizations. We’re also an active sponsor of local events like the MV Marathon and the MV Film Society, and make annual donations to local cannabis education and prevention programs. We encourage and support our staff’s participation in community outreach programs.
Our Product
We are aligned with Defenders of Nature.
We recognize the need to preserve nature and offer a sustainable premium cannabis brand. Cannabis is cultivated in a greenhouse and powered primarily by the sun with eco-conscious environmental controls and drip irrigation that conserves water. Cannabis is grown without harmful chemicals or pesticides and packaged in either compostable containers or reclaimed ocean plastic. Soil is composted and an irrigation system is currently being developed that runs entirely on snowmelt and rainwater.
Because we believe Mother Nature knows best.
