Flight risk The national shortage of pilots isn’t yet affecting the flight schedules at Martha’s Vineyard Airport, but there is a possibility that trips to and and from the Island will be affected this summer. After a report that Cape Air was significantly cutting back on its flights to and from Nantucket, reporter Eunki Seonwoo checked in with airport and Cape Air officials on the Vineyard and has this story.
Winds of change We’re starting to feel the effects of the offshore wind industry on the Island. Last week, Vineyard Wind held a job fair for prospective employees on the Island. The Vineyard will be home to an operations and maintenance facility, a terminal, and a staging site at the airport. Reporter Rich Saltzberg attended the fair and has this update.
Gone to pot? Two Island dispensaries were discussed at the Martha’s Vineyard Commission. Fine Fettle in West Tisbury is requesting a change to allow walk-in customers because business is well below expected projections. Meanwhile, commissioners are concerned about traffic on Mechanic Street in Vineyard Haven as they consider a second marijuana retail outlet for that road. Reporter Abigail Rosen has this story.
