Fast food, faster flag Are food trucks fast food? That was once again a question before the town of West Tisbury. The select board ultimately agreed to allow a food truck at a Climate Action Week event Saturday, but it was not a unanimous decision. Meanwhile, the town also supported flying the Progress Pride flag with none of the debate or drama that occurred in Oak Bluffs. Reporter Eunki Seonwo has this story.

Ready to roll
Plymouth & Brockton Bus Co. has some new buses and an expanded schedule. The company’s owner came to the Island earlier this week to promote the buses and the service to both Logan and T.F. Green Airports. (The service is from Woods Hole because the buses don’t float.) Reporter Lucas Thors has the details.

Businesses stiffed Three Island businesses are out thousands of dollars because ads were booked illegally for the Tisbury School project. The ads were scheduled by a consultant who was authorized by a subcommittee of the building committee. But because they were to be paid by town funds that’s a violation of the state’s campaign finance laws. The town faced no repercussions for the violation, which is outrageous because a Times story in January 2021 pointed out that town funds shouldn’t be used to promote the project and the building committee went forward with the plan anyway. Diverse voices
The Island is getting ready for the 22nd annual Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival starting May 18, and there’s a lot to look forward to. One main thrust of this year’s event is all the diverse voices from different cultures being represented, along with many films salient to the varied population that lives here. Many directors, producers, actors, writers, and film subjects will be in attendance to present their films. Read Abby Remer’s story on the upcoming festival here.
