Fatal moped accidentNews broke this afternoon of a fatal moped accident near Big Bridge in Oak Bluffs. Officials say the moped driver drifted into oncoming traffic and died. A passenger was flown off the Island in critical condition. Read more here.

A local public defender says that she’s seen an increase in clients that have relapsed after a homeless encampment was cleared from the state forest. She told a judge that that’s leading to arrests. Local police are saying that they don’t see a correlation. Read that story here.

Musical art
"Blues Invasion" is the most recent exhibit at the M.V. Film Center. Artist Jerry Prettyman’s style draws from his work as a graphic designer and illustrator for almost four decades. His art pays homage to jazz and blues music. It's on view through Sept. 8 in the Feldman Family Artspace, which is curated by Featherstone. Read more here.
