Woman killed in moped crash named Police yesterday evening released the identities of the individuals involved in the fatal moped accident near Big Bridge in Oak Bluffs. The driver, who died, was 41-year-old Julie Harris of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Police also offered new details on what caused the

Climate change research postponed The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has delayed by a year its plan to dump sodium hydroxide off the Island’s coast in order to study ways to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The institution said the delay was due to their planned research vessel being

Adieu, Andrea’s Auto A woman-owned garage in Edgartown is closing down. In a heartfelt message to the Island community, owner of Andrea’s Auto — Andrea Dello Russo — shared her gratitude for the love she’s felt. But because of housing, she’s moving to the West Coast. Read that story here.

Weekend: 5K Run for Camp Jabberwocky: All are welcome to run, walk, or roll this 5K road race to benefit one of the oldest sleepaway camps on the Island for kids and adults with disabilities. Jabberwocky is fundraising to keep the camp completely free. Saturday, 9 to 11 am.
162nd Annual Agricultural

Built on Stilts Community Festival: This 28th annual creative dance and performance festival can include live music, storytelling, theater, comedy, circus acts, and other inspirational shows. Union Chapel on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 8 pm. Doors open at 7:30 pm.
Reggae Splash on the Vineyard: A special concert featuring the Queen of Reggae and the singer of "The Electric Slide," Marcia Griffiths, plus the Braata Folk Singers. Marcia is one of the three last remaining singers of Bob Marley's The I-Threes. MVRHS Performing Arts Center, Sunday, 7:30 pm.
Islanders Write: A free annual event where writers with ties to the Vineyard come together for panel discussions, writing workshops, book signings, and more. Featherstone in Oak Bluffs, Sunday at 7:30 pm, and Monday all day. Find
