Inn for the win The Martha’s Vineyard Commission approved an application Thursday for the construction of a new Oak Bluffs inn, to be located in the heart of town. The three-story building is set to accommodate just eight guests, but will add to the Island’s year-round traditional lodging stock. Reporter Abigail Rosen has thisstory.
Meet Chilmark’s future police chief Rather, the candidates who made it to the finalists’ stage will be interviewing with the Chilmark select board. The preliminary screening committee narrowed down the pool of applicants to three individuals, each of them a police officer on the Island. solved The Steamship Authority (SSA) revealed its servers were not ready to handle the massive volume of customers when issues arose online on Tuesday, Jan. 17, when summer reservations opened up. However, things are back to normal and the summer reservation schedules are undeterred. SSA spokesperson Sean Driscoll said the online issues were unrelated to the improvements being implemented to the website. Reporter Eunki Seonwoo has this update.

Healing with the herd Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center has all sorts of programs for every age, but did you know they offer opportunities for veterans who are struggling? One such program encourages veterans to study, spend time with, and try to connect with the entire herd of horses. Animal therapy is already an established therapy practice, especially for those suffering from PTSD or other psychiatric disorders.
