Pimpneymouse Farm
Local land conservation organizations have teamed up to help protect 166 acres of a historic farm on Chappaquiddick. The Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation and the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank are hoping to acquire Pimpneymouse Farm, which consists not only of farmland, but forest and marshland. To help with these efforts, Gov. Maura Healy announced this week that through a state grant program, Pimpneymouse and five other land conservation projects have been chosen to receive a total of over $7 million. More on that here.

Solidarity at Chabad
Last night, Chabad hosted a vigil with remarks from Representative Bill Keating, State Senator Julian Cyr, Israel Consul General to New England Meron Reuben, and more. Particular focus was given to honoring the deceased and praying for Israeli hostages. Speakers also addressed Israel's defense and some of the controversies surrounding the conflict. Read more here.

Quote of the Day

— M.V. Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby president John Custer at this weekend’s award ceremony

Hot Topic Comment
"Thinking of the Tisbury School staff and students (and those now at the High School). Shannon was so dedicated to her students and worked with them to help them in there learning and more! I really enjoyed working with her when I was there. A genuine caring person. My heart breaks."
— Nancy Dugan comments on the passing of a Tisbury School teacher

Hot Topic Letter
"Let’s sit down and consider how we can make it work; rather than the usual knee jerk reaction that ‘this is going to cause too much traffic, we are concerned for the safety of our children’ and the usual NIMBY list that goes on."
— Elaine and Howard Miller

Works in progress
Barney Zeitz is an artist of many talents: stained glass, sculpture, leatherwork... to name a few. Writer Hermine Hull got a look into his work during a tour of his space in Vineyard Haven. As she writes, "windows are filled with stained or fused glass pieces. Walls are covered with art — Zeitz’s drawings, and work by the artist’s friends of a lifetime. It is beyond wonderful."
