There’s still a way to go, but Oak Bluffs officials recently celebrated the ongoing upgrades to the town’s wastewater facility with a groundbreaking. Not only will the upgrades help keep the environment cleaner, but it also prepares the town for the population growth it’s projected to experience. Read more here.
VCS hires new advocacy director The Vineyard Conservation Society has hired Zada Clarke as its director of advocacy and community organizing. "In this role, I'll work
alongside VCS to help strengthen community engagement in initiatives that straddle land conservation and education, as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation," says Clarke, who recently moved to Chilmark. Read more here.
DaRosa honored with new plaque Business owner and local leader Dennis daRosa, who passed away in 2020, will be honored this month with an honorary plaque to be placed at the Oak Bluffs information booth. The unveiling, a ceremony, and a small gathering at the Ritz following the event will be

Despite the great love humans have for their animals, veterinarian Michelle Gerhard Jasny argues that with old age comes certain limitations like disease and deterioration that are unavoidable. Though she encourages preventative action like treatments and medication, Jasny also speaks to the sad reality of what pet owners face when recognizing the aging of their beloved animals.
