Housing construction begins It’s been a long time coming, but construction for the 40-unit Meshacket Commons has begun. Quote of the Day "It’s difficult to fill almost any position on the Island." — Brian Smith, chair of the Oak Bluffs personnel board on regionalizing public safety departments Hot Topic Comment
"Love to see this! Nice work Heath! I love how vibrant the colors are with the sealer. Now I want one. Just in case anyone out there doesn’t know: If you are not Wampanoag, do not harvest the clay! Do not touch, do not climb, do not disturb the clay." — Aretha Taylor comments on our story about working clay from the sacred Gay Head Cliffs Hot Topic Letter "I have had numerous opportunities to observe Thomas Moakley in action in the Edgartown courthouse, and his intellect, strong work ethic, and capacity to reach equitable compromises have set a very high bar. With all of that in mind, I have every confidence that he will be an exemplary successor to our outgoing state representative, Dylan Fernandes." — George Davis endorses Thomas Moakley for state rep.
