Today is Pi Day, but we prefer pies over here at the MV Times. There are several places on the Vineyard with a tasty assortment of pies. Maybe you can share
your recommendations. Today is also Albert Einstein's birthday. He was born in Ulm, Germany, on this day in 1879. Einstein’s a genius scientist, but who’s the genius that invented pies? If your friend sent you this, sign up for yourself here.

Slow your boatA proposed rule by NOAA would have vessels over 35 feet in length slow down to 10 knots during certain times of the year. The measure was designed to protect the
critically endangered North Atlantic right whales, but some are concerned about the economic impact this would bring to coastal communities and maritime industries. The rule is under federal review. Read more here.

Updates at the Edgartown SchoolAfter many parents voiced frustration in February over meeting students' needs and other issues, Edgartown School principal Shelley Einbinder and district superintendent Richie Smith shared updates on progress made so far. Einbinder presented a four-part School Improvement Plan and nearly a dozen upcoming afterschool programs, and Smith asked that more community members join the School Advisory Council. Smith says that more work is still needed. Read more here.

Newly built, custom home located in Katama, just a short walk to Edgartown
and a quick bike ride to South Beach. A new owner will appreciate the thought and attention to detail that has been incorporated into this home, which was designed and built by an experienced building company, Speedwagon Partners. Featuring a combination of contemporary design and expertly crafted details, like bespoke cabinetry, porcelain and quartz surfaces, and white oak flooring, the home instantly feels very luxurious and elegant. There are a total of four bedrooms and four full baths, plus two half-baths and two laundry rooms. The living spaces are open to each other, yet also defined, with an abundance of natural light, thanks to oversized windows and high ceilings. The living room fireplace, Wolf and Thermador kitchen appliances, and a 10-foot quartz island are just some of the features that make this property stand out. A finished lower-level completes the home, and the property is well-landscaped, focusing on a gunite pool and a hot tub with tasteful
stonework, plus a gas fire pit and decking.
