The Ruffian and the Payback
A yacht collided with a fishing vessel in Edgartown Harbor June 2, and the disagreement in what is owed in damages and lost income has stalled compensation to the damaged boat. Donald Benefit, owner of the vessel Payback, said he lost four weeks of work and had his conch fishing season thwarted by the incident. Read more and watch a video of the crash here.

Newly built, custom home located in Katama, just a short walk to Edgartown and a quick bike ride to South Beach. A new owner will appreciate the thought and attention to detail that has been incorporated into this home, which was designed and built by an experienced building company, Speedwagon Partners. Featuring a combination of contemporary design and expertly crafted details, like bespoke cabinetry, porcelain and quartz surfaces, and white oak flooring, the home instantly feels very luxurious and elegant. There are a total of four bedrooms and four full baths, plus two half-baths and two laundry rooms. The living spaces are open to each other, yet also defined, with an abundance of natural light, thanks to oversized windows and high ceilings. The living room fireplace, Wolf and Thermador kitchen appliances, and a 10-foot quartz island are just some of the features that make this
property stand out. A finished lower-level completes the home, and the property is well-landscaped, focusing on a gunite pool and a hot tub with tasteful stonework, plus a gas fire pit and decking.

Stephen Carter and 'The Emperor of Ocean Park' Stephen Carter’s 2002 bestselling novel about wealth, power, and politics, “The Emperor of Ocean Park,” set in Chicago and Martha’s Vineyard, is making its screen debut right now on MGM+, available through Amazon Prime. Stephen and his wife have been bringing their family to the Island for decades. The story is set in Ivy League academia and focuses on the Garland clan, headed by the now deceased
Judge Oliver Garland. His offspring are varied in their talents and interests, and after their father’s passing, some think foul play might be involved. Read more about Carter and the upcoming series here.
