Local investigation The Cape and Islands District Attorney announced that he will be investigating the flights of nearly 50 asylum seekers, mostly from Venezuela, to the Vineyard. D.A. Rob Galibois also pressed for the Department of Justice to investigate, echoing the statements of officials across the country. Read our coverage here.
Unexpected airport sleepover Two flights were canceled at Martha’s Vineyard Airport on Saturday, stranding people on the Island. A combined effort by airport staff and local emergency personnel provided cots for the roughly 45 individuals who needed a place to sleep. Get

Howes that going? The West Tisbury select board wants to stop and reset on the Howes House/Up-Island Council on Aging planning. It’s been two years of planning and progress has only been knocked back, to the frustration of some town officials. West Tisbury wants to regroup, possibly create a new building committee, and go out to the public to see what is wanted. Read more here.
