Stormy, snowy, windy Tuesday’s nor’easter is bringing heavy
winds, wet snow, and is keeping first responders busy. There have been reports of multiple vehicle accidents. National Weather Service has estimated that over 6 inches of snow have fallen in some areas of the Island. The storm has already canceled classes and many public buildings have closed. Senior housing in West Tisbury West Tisbury is a step closer in getting additional housing for seniors on State Road. The project, being developed by Island Housing Trust, would provide housing for those 60 years and older. The developers had to make amendments to gain the approval, on top of a condition. Sewer main break The Edgartown wastewater department reported a break in a sewer main earlier this winter that compromised the safety of the road and led to
some foul odors. Now, the department is requesting nearly $5 million in funding to replace a mile of sewer piping. Meanwhile, they are looking for funding to start a much, much bigger project. Read that story here.
