A note from the publisher: The MVTimes is excited to announce that we are revamping this newsletter because we have learned it is our most effective way to deliver the news to you, our readers. Based on the results of a survey, we heard you about what you liked and did not like and we have spent the summer trying to fine tune it along the lines you, our readers, suggested. We wanted to let you know we are planning to roll out this improved version of The Minute on Thursday. We hope you like it. And we will want to hear from you! And thanks so much for being a subscriber! If your friend sent you this, sign up for yourself here.

Quote of the Day "The ocean is one of the last undeveloped places on earth… We put cables down there but it’s largely undeveloped. It’s sad to see that go away." — Fisherman Otto Osmers during a flotilla protest at the Vineyard Wind siteHot Topic Comment"When a protest happens out-of-sight is it also out-of-mind? One in each down-Island town." — Jean Tatelbaum is one of
several readers that gave us suggestions on how to house the Island’s most vulnerable

With all of the seasonal produce available, try the tips shared by Nicole Jackson for making a Taco Bowl. Fresh corn can be tossed together with the other ingredients and topped off with taco sauce or your favorite dressing, so you'll still have all the flavor from using shells, but with less mess.
Community members in recovery are welcome at the Recovery Café at M.V. Community Center's Red House in Oak
Bluffs. Prepare and enjoy a wholesome lunch while connecting with others. They also provide Recovery Soup, Overcomers Outreach, Sober Seniors, and much more. Check their event calendar at redhouserecovery.org/events.
If you have a recipe to share with the community, send it along with a photo of the dish and a
brief backstory to recipes@mvtimes.com.
