Got a minute?
Here’s what’s happening on Martha’s Vineyard today.

We don’t discuss sports much here, but we figured this was worth it. Today is the last regular season game for the Boston Bruins, and we just want to say
congrats. After a win against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, the Bruins recorded the most points ever in an NHL season. That’s after getting the most wins ever in a season. So today should be just fun and games for the black and gold before the playoffs. Well done, sirs. If your friend sent you this, sign up for yourself here.

MV Barkery’s visionMother-son duo Edie Prescott and Henry Prescott are working to grow their dog treat baking business called MV Barkery. Edie created the company as a way to provide Henry, who has autism, a place with meaningful employment. Finding employment is an issue for individuals with autism, not just on the Island but nationwide. Edie hopes MV Barkery will be able to
fill the gap on the Vineyard. Read the story here.

Quenomic
Preserve pushbackThe Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank is developing a management plan for Quenomica Preserve, but abutters are so far unhappy with what they saw. Various concerns, including risks associated with hunting and preserving private roads, were raised during a public hearing. Quote of the Day "This is a pretty egregious breach of their shared responsibility to create a situation in which — with no town oversight and little committee oversight even — they can spend as much as they want on a legal appeal." — West Tisbury resident Doug Ruskin at town meeting on Tuesday.Hot Topic CommentBirgitta Parker comments on Edgartown and Oak Bluffs passing a ban on nip sales: "I have picked up
hundreds of nips on the chop. So this is great. Maybe the return deposit for beer cans and sodas should be a lot more than a nickel. Then maybe they would stop throwing them out the car window also. Also what can be done with folks picking up their dog poop but then leaving the bag on the ground or in the bushes." Hot Topic Letter"The warming waters and an almost endless food supply in the form of harbor seals: Our sharky friends are only growing in population. While this is an amazing scenario ecologically, indicating a healthy ocean, it can be dangerous for humans if they are not prepared." — Azi Goodwin from Oak Bluffs writes to us about staying aware of sharks near our beaches.
